Where to Advertise a Discord Server in 2026
Every place you can put your server in front of people, what each one actually brings, and what it costs.
# Where to advertise a Discord server in 2026
There is no ad account to top up for Discord. Growth comes from being visible in places where people already are, and each place behaves differently. Here is the honest version of each one.
Server directories
Disboard, top.gg, Discord Me, server-discord.com. You add the server, pick tags, and people browsing the directory can find you. Free, and worth doing on day one — but the audience is people who are shopping for servers, so they join a lot and stay in few. Bumping keeps you near the top of a list for a couple of hours at a time.
Expect a slow trickle: a few joins a day for a small server, more if your tags match something popular.
Partnerships with other servers
You post about each other. It costs nothing and works well while both servers are a similar size. Two things break it: when you grow past your partner, you give more than you get, and when the partner channel is one nobody reads.
Ask for the partner's online count before agreeing, not the member count.
Paid placements inside communities
Someone else's server already gathered the people you want. A post there, ideally with an @here, puts your invite in front of them at a moment when they are actually online.
This is what dis.ad does: the owner sets a price for 3, 7 or 30 days, the money is held until the post has been up for the whole term, and if it disappears early you get refunded. You can see the audience and online count of each server before you buy.
Prices start in the hundreds of roubles for small communities and run into thousands for servers above 100,000 members.
Ads outside Discord
YouTube and Telegram work when the audience overlaps: a Minecraft server advertised on a Minecraft channel converts, the same ad on a general gaming channel does not. Reddit allows self-promotion only in subreddits that invite it — read the rules first, because a ban costs you the account.
What does not work
Mass DMs get accounts banned and make people hate the server. Bought members are bots: they inflate a number, never talk, and make your real engagement rate look worse to every advertiser who checks it.
A reasonable first month
Add the server to three directories, agree two partnerships, then buy one 3-day placement in a community close to your topic and watch what actually happens to your member count. Judge it a week later by how many people are still there.
